Sekumpulan pencuri telah memecah masuk di sebuah rumah di Johor Baru ketika penghuni rumah tiada di rumah. Ketika pencuri tersebut sedang sibuk mengumpulkan barangan berharga, jiran yang nampak menghubungi polis. Apabila polis sampai, pencuri tadi lari meninggalkan barang yang sudah dikumpul. Jiran nampak anggota polis membawa beberapa barangan, beg sebagai bahan bukti ke balai.
Apabila mangsa mengambil barangan bukti di balai, mangsa mengatakan RM200,000 dan beberapa barangan berharga dan barang kemas lain tidak dipulangkan termasuk 3 beg yang telah ditinggalkan perompak sedangkan jiran nampak anggota polis membawa 3 beg tersebut. (petikan akhbar NST 3 Sep 2012)
Family claim cops kept burgled items

JOHOR BARU: A family of five who had foiled a burglary at their home are now alleging daylight robbery by the police.
Lim Kok Yong, 58, said police had yet to return some RM200,000 in cash, foreign currencies and jewellery, which were taken as evidence on May 19.
Lim, from Taman Munshi Inbrahim here, has since lodged two police reports and sought the assistance of Johor Baru MCA Youth chief Kua Song Tuck, after failing to secure the items' return.
The family were away when two burglars broke into their house and escaped with the belongings about 8pm on May 19.
When Lim returned home about 11pm, he and his family were shocked to see their neighbours gathered in their compound.
Lim said the burglars gained entry into their house via the back door. After ransacking their house, they loaded the loot, including four mobile phones, jewellery, foreign currencies, piggy banks, bank passbooks and RM23,000, into three bags but a neighbour spotted them and alerted the police.
"The police responded quickly but the burglars managed to escape, abandoning our belongings," Lim said at the South Johor Chinese Press Club yesterday.
He said witnesses saw policemen loading the three bags into the boot of a police car.
"The next day, when my son went to the police station to claim our belongings, they only returned three boxes of bird's nest and two piggy banks containing coins."
A witness, Ahmad Muslim Abd Rahim, 17, said he and several neighbours had lodged police reports to confirm that they saw three policemen taking the three bags.
Johor police chief Datuk Mokhtar Shariff despatched Johor Baru Utara Criminal Investigation Department chief and a Chinese-speaking senior police officer to the victim's house.
"I will not tolerate any misuse of power among my subordinates. At the same time, I will ensure all allegations are investigated thoroughly."
