Beliau menigatkan bahawa keamanan yang kita kecapi selama ini boleh tergugat sekiranya kita tidak mempertahan dan memeliharanya. Beliau percaya, PLKN telah berjaya meningkatkan semangat partiotisme di kalangan pelatih-pelatih sehingga mungkin ada di kalangan mereka yang menyimpan hasrat untuk berbakti dengan menyertai pasukan keselamatan sebagai kerjaya.

GEMA politik tanah air kehilangan seorang tokoh politik yang digeruni pihak lawan dan kawan. Pemergian Dato Seri Nik Aziz Nik Mat untuk selama-lamanya dalam usia 84 tahun (1931-2015) sebulan selepas hari jadi beliau (10 Januari 1931) dan hampir sebulan selepas dikesan menghidap kanser prostat tahap IV.
Pada 19 Januari lalu beliau dimasukan ke hospital, sebelum bencana banjir terburuk dalam sejarah Kelantan melanda negeri Siti Wan Kembang.
Nik Aziz yang menjadi wakil rakyat sejak tahun 1967, belum pernah kalah pada sebarang pilihanraya, malah masih berstatu wakil rakyat sehingga beliau wafat.
Pada PRU-13, beliau masih mengetuai Pas dalam pilihanraya, dan selepas Pas menang, beliau tidak bersedia lagi dilantik sebagai Menteri Besar, kerana faktor kesihatan.
Parti Pas kehilangan ikon politik dengan pemergeian Musrsyidul Am Pas itu.
Ada yang meramalkan, penyatuan parti melayu akan berlaku selepas kematian beliau. Apa kah itu mungkin berlaku? Namun melihat kepada keadaan parti pas yang kini dipenuhi penyokong Anwar Ibrahim yang cenderung kepada politik DAP, anggapan itu hanya tinggal anggapan.
Boleh sahaja boleh berlaku kerjasama antara Umno dan Pas, akan tetapi kumpulan yang dipimpin Mat Sabu akan tidak turut sama,sertinya penyatuan melayu tidak juga akan berlaku.
Melayu akan terus berpecah, walaupun Nik Aziz telah meninggalkan kita untuk selama-lamanya.

MURSYIDUL AM Pas Dato Seri Nik Aziz Nik Mat, 84 pergi untuk selama-lamanya jam 9.40 tadi malam, seejam selepas keluar daripada hospital.
Mantan Menteri Besar Kelantan itu dimasuk ke hospital pada 19 Januari atas sebab kurang sihat akibat serangan kanser prostat tahap IV.
Keadaan kesihatan beliau menurunn pada Khamis akibat rawatan ulser, dan melihat keadaan itu, beliau meminta di bawa pulang ke rumah kediaman beliau di Pulau Melaka, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
Nik Aziz pertama kali dilantik sebagai MB Kelantan pada tahun 1990 sehingga tahun 2013.
